HOW - installation project
equipment
You can check out Canon Vixia HF S21 HD camcorders if you wish to film original footage (this is not required). There is also one Panasonic AG-AF100P HD video camera available, as well as audio equipment, cables, and accessories as needed.
Check-out hours are 3-10pm Sunday-Thursday. There is a student worker in charge who will usually be floating araound the building. The typical sign-out period is three days -- if you need equipment for longer you should contact the professor.
editing
The multimedia resource post has tips for finding or generating source material online or on a computer. Since your video doesn't have to be posted on a streaming website, you can use high quality settings when you export it. Your final version should be in MPEG-4 (.mp4) format on a DVD or SD card (in the cameras).
You may use either your own computer/software for any editing or work in the Granoff Multimedia Lab. The hours are M-F 8:30am-11pm, S 12-6pm, Su 12-11pm except when classes are in session -- you can consult the full schedule at the CIS website.
mobile
The interactive component is fairly open-ended -- it can be anything viewers can access on a smartphone. Here are some tools that might be useful:
URL shorteners: including bit.ly
QR code generators: including Kaywa + Delivr
Twitter features: including hashtags + autoreply bots
voicemail services: including Google Voice
custom maps: including Google Maps
